CB7 of the Month March 2008
For the month of March 2008 we had once again, another tie for CB7 of the Month. The two winners were Blazeteck and ILoveMyHonda, both fairly new members of the community. I would like to congratulate both of them for joining MYCB7.com and achieving this status so fast.
Blazeteck:
How did you hear of MYCB7.com?
I was searching for a CB7 website and I came along this one. Great site.
What has inspired you to put as much effort as you have into your car?
My first accord was a 1987 hatch. I loved that car but when the engine died on me ( 354k) I wanted a newer accord. My mother had a 90 CB and I wanted to get one really bad. So I got one for $600 ( 91 SE )
well this is my 13th accord. The first one I had a lot of problems (91 SE) but I didn't want to sell it. so I junked it and told my self it will come back but better than before. After a few accords later this one was my best looking accord ever!!I'm still putting work into her and won't be sold anytime soon.
How much have you dropped into your car (money wise)?
$3800 including the car and leather seats.
What type of occupation do you have?
Computer Tech ( 10 years now )
Do you represent a MYCB7.COM sticker on your car?
Have it on both side windows :)
How long have you had your CB7?
Will be a year in july for this one. But have owned a CB for 6 years :)
Have you had any major issues with it in general or when doing modifications?
The muffler and the bearings were my biggest issue. so far nothing else and I hope it will last me for a while, close to 200k SOON!
Doing the door panels was kinda a b*&t but I was able to do them without having to pay someone to do it(expt the leather seats).
How do you feel about being MYCB7.COM Ride of the Month?
It feels great! Even the tie did not get me mad at all. The hard work I have put into the car has paid off :)
ILoveMyHonda:
First off, how did you hear of MYCB7.com?
I was searching around for pics of 1991 Accords on Google and happened to come across this site. I was already a member of a few Acura TSX forums, so when I found this forum for the CB I had to join!
What has inspired you to put as much effort as you have into your car?
Well, I recieved the car in 1998 as a hand me down from my parents, who purchased it new in 1991. At first it was just so I can go to and from school and work. My friends got cars for graduation too, a new Civic hatchback, a CR-X and a '97 Accord. So while they were modding their cars and joining "teams" I started to look for mods for the CB, to join the fun! Back then looking for parts was almost slim to none. But I was able to obtain stanley clear corners & bumper lights (hot back then BTW haha) a bunch of suspensions parts and rims, and even some all clear tail-lights. So I guess that's when it started. After that "phase" it was more trying to keep it maintained and able to take it in the twisties, hard! I love the turns!
It went from "rice" to nice over the decade. My inspiration now is to keep it clean and simple....and keep it until the wheels fall off!! (Which I hope doesn't really happen haha)
How much have you dropped into your car (money wise)?
Over the decade of ownership it's hard to keep track. If I were to estimate, I'd prolly say close to $5-6,000, minus gas (who else remembers a fill up only costing $20?!). But this might increase in the future....*cough*H22*cough*
What type of occupation do you have?
Well I used to be an Auto Tech. at a Stealership , but right now I'm on disabilty. Long story, but I hope it's a short recovery.
Do you represent a MYCB7.COM sticker on your car?
I have a pair, and I would, I just don't know where I want to put them yet. Sticker placement is a crucial mod!! Haha
How long have you had your CB7?
10 Years this past February =) But it's been in the family since new!
Have you had any major issues with it in general or when doing modifications?
Not so much, the one that gave me the hardest time would have to be, installing the Sidemarkers & CAI. I didn't have a dremel or hole saw at the time, I was only 20yo so I barely knew what I was doing. So I drilled a bunch of holes next to eachother for the CAI, and covered the bare metal with some nail polish, put door edging around it and called it a day. It's held up ever since, guess I got lucky. Haha
How do you feel about being MYCB7.COM Ride of the Month?
I think it's great! I mean, I know my car ain't much and it doesn't have an H22. But to have this honor is awesome, especially since I've hung on to her for so long, people always ask "why do you still have that car?", "Cuz, it's sentimental value is too high." So, I feel like she's getting the recognition she finally deserves! Thanks again! And congrats to "Blazeteck" as well, that interior is awesome man!

CB7 of the Month November 2007
Congratulations to Keeles Kustome for winning November 2007 CB7 of the month!
What has inspired you to put as much effort as you have into your car?
::Well honestly, every time i wanted to spend money on a new car i opted out to redesign and mine to a \new liking. Whats motivated me is the pursuit of a never ending ability i knew i had to create works of art.
About how much have you spent on your car?
:: Well i have gone through 6 front bumpers and repaired this one 4 times. This car at the moment i have $2000 in it and so much time you could write a novel a 1000 pages long.
What type of occupation do you have?
:: I am the head painter at a large collision Center. I am also a bodyman / fabrication, also detail wet sanding and buffing, if i have nothing to paint.
Honestly, what do you think of JDM, EDM, and USDM?
:: I think they are all hype. for marketing, I'm not into any of it really.
Would you represent a MYCB7.COM sticker on your car?
:: Ehhhh... i have 3 or them at the moment but i can't put them on there, i don't want any stickers on my car. Although my plan is when i get a new trunk lid on the inside it will be painted a candy blue and the logo will be put in it, so yeah i represent ya!
How long have you had your CB7?
:: 4 years
Have you had any major issues with it in general or when doing modifications?
:: Yeah, everything i modified or thought about changing gave me an uphill battle from body work to building the h22, nothing went flawlessly and i am still having an issue with cheap camber kits, but she's solid and i love her!
How do you feel about being MYCB7.COM Ride of the Month?
:: I feel stoked! Don't know how it happened! but i am happy! I guess i am not the only one who likes her!

CB7 Of The Month September 2007
|
CB7 of the Month August 2007
What has inspired you to put as much effort as you have into your car?
I've always loved the body style , and at first it was just bolt ons, nothing performance. Then one day I realized that I was building the car that I want, not buying it off the shelf.
About how much have you spent on your car?
Well over 6k, and counting everyday.
What type of occupation do you have?
I'm a tech at an Acura dealership, not sure how much longer I want to do that though.
Honestly, what do you think of JDM, EDM, and USDM?
Its whatever, I mean don't buy something because its JDM, or EDM. Buy it because you like it and it fits your style.
Would you represent a MYCB7.COM sticker on your car?
Sure, I had one to put on it, but it ended up on my toolbox at work.
How long have you had your CB7?
Going on 7 years now...
Have you had any major issues with it in general or when doing modifications?
The biggest issue I've had yet due to modification was my recent clutch issue. One of the dampening springs came loose and is lodged in the tranny somewhere. Oh well m2b4 is here.
How do you feel about being MYCB7.COM Ride of the Month?
Its pretty cool, I didn't even know that I had been nominated. lol.
Thanks Zach for taking the time for the interview and keep making that CB7 glow with charisma.

CB7 of the Month July 2007
What inspired you to go DOHC turbo?
The need for power, and lots of it. my car was N/A for about 6 months after i got it, till i built and installed a VERY low dollar DSM turbo setup, which due to lack of engine management (i used a FMU), blew up 4 motors, all single cams. I then went to a H23/F22 hybrid, with forged internals, better management, and a much larger turbocharger. This combonation lasted almost a year, and made decent power, until a lean spike at high rpm's melted a piston. I decided at that point to build yet another motor, one which no corners would be cut. the addition of VTEC was the logical choice, since the H22 head has excellent flow characteristics. An F22 block was used, due to the abundance of parts left over from the last attempt(rods, crank and such).
How does it feel to be MYCB7.COM of the month?
I am honored that people like my car enough to vote it CB7 of the Month. I have done most of the modifications geared toward keeping a mostly stock appearance on the outside and far from stock under the hood. Its a good feeling to get attention without being flashy. Thanks for all your votes guys, and thanks for the nomination Erik!
How much do you estimate you have put into your ride?
I don't like to think about it, but i'm guessing between 10-15K.
How long have you owned your CB7? Do you plan on keeping it?
I have owned my car since 04, when a good buddy gave it to me when he went into the Marines. It was in very poor condition to say the least. It has come a long way but is far from "finished."
Have you had any major mechanical issues with your car?
Nothing not to be expected of a modified car, motors are almost a "frequent wear item". But for the worst thing that has gone wrong, other then motors, was when the right lower ball joint broke when i was doing 65mph...that sucked.
What type of occupation do you have?
I work as a tech/tuner at a performance shop.
Would you sport MYCB7.COM merchandise?
Definitely would. Supporting the community and trying to add to it are part of the scene we are in.
Thanks for the interview Mike!

MYCB7.COM Ride of the Month June 2007!
Congratulations to Airride Accord for being voted MYCB7.COM's first Ride of the Month!
What has inspired you to put as much effort as you have into your car?
Ever since I was in high school and saw this model of accord I fell in love with it, and ever since then I have always wanted one, and I said to myself if I ever owned one I would try to fix it up as much as I could, well if I had enough money to do it, I have seen alot of accords fixed up and I wanted to do the same but a little different, yeah I went through what people consider the ricer phase, but as time went by I wanted the car to have a clean look, and thats when I started buying alot of JDM parts for it cause you know the fitment is going to be good, and its going to look nice, so I went this route, and little by little I got more and more things for the car, and now this is how it looks today.
About how much have you spent on your car?
To tell you the truth I'm not really sure how much money I have put into it, I havent really sat down and calculated it, but I know it's well over $5,000, cause the paint job alone cost me $2,800.
What type of occupation do you have?
I work at a stereo shop, as an installer, I have worked there for about 6 years now.
Honestly, what do you think of JDM, EDM, and USDM?
What I think about all these is that well they are all OEM but have there own unique style and look, of course we live in the US and we tend to get tired of the USDM look, so we go JDM or EDM, which again is OEM but with a different look, and I think people in Europe, and Japan would feel the same way, but to tell you the truth I like all 3, but since JDM and EDM is different here, I decided to go that route.
Would you represent a MYCB7.COM sticker on your car?
YES! I would represent one of your stickers on my car.
Erik: I better get you one then! :)
How long have you had your CB7?
This month I have had my car for approximately 6 years.
Have you had any major issues with it in general or when doing modifications?
The only issues I have had is replacing the starter a couple of times, and the alternator, and one of the rear wheel hubs, as for modifications the only one I had was doing the bb6 prelude cluster swap, that one was probably the hardest cause it involved alot of wiring, looking at 2 different diagrams and alot of soldering and lableing.
How do you feel about being MYCB7.COM Ride of the Month?
I'm very happy and honored to be Ride of the Month, I feel that all the hard work I have done and all the time I have put into this car paid off, and I also thank J-Dawg for nominating me and all of you who voted for me, thanks again.

Langley, BC - Accord Meet - June 30th, 2007 through July 2nd
FINAL INFO UPDATE
What: BBQ, Swimming, Driving, Camping, Eating, Greeting, Meeting, Picturing, Videoing, Chillin in the Sun, SeaDooing!
When: Friday June 30th - Monday July 2nd
Where: Beautiful British Columbia - In the Valley - Langley and Chilliwack, BC - CULTUS LAKE, and Chilliwack Lake
Please Read Through this.... Its long, but bear with me.
GOOD NEWS! I got the camping sites booked - 20 Minutes from Cultus Lake - WOOHOO!! We can still have the day trip there, BBQ, hit up the waterpark, rent boats, and for those who are staying behind, I have three awesome sites booked - very close to Chilliwack Lake, right beside the river! GORGEOUS SITES
There are three sites, and there is room for about 2 tents in each site - but we can cram 3-4 tents in each site, as there won't be a car there - there is more than enough room for all the cars to be parked in the parking lot. I've paid a deposit and booked the sites - they will be waiting for us on Friday night - I have them booked until Monday.
It's an awesome drive up nice curvey roads (no bumps) and its a pretty sweet location to camp at - there are other people going to be there, so we need to be chill - not to loud or obnoxious and respect the neighbours around us. They said that it gets pretty busy and there are lots of people having fun during the day, so we can be as loud as we want around the bbq at lunch, but at night, we gotta be cool.
At peak season, during the long weekend the cost to camp in one of the three sites is $20 per tent per night (for a maximum of two people - each additional person is $6 to put them in the same tent.)
I Strongly encourage sharing tents, as there might be more people planning to camp then those that have said so. People might bring girlfriends, friends, etc. THERE ARE ONLY 9-12 SPACES FOR TENTS (depending on size of the tents).
Therefore, if you want to Book a tent spot, you can do this by paying for ONE NIGHT - for your tent. This way you will RESERVE YOUR SPOT. You can pay the Balance when you're there depending on however long you want to stay.
If you don't reserve a spot, and there is no more room to cram a tent in, you are Shit Outta Luck. IT IS GOING TO BE BUSY, SO BOOK YOUR SPOTS
Book a Spot by using Paypal. Please send payments to jonsamuel5000@hotmail.com. You spot will be booked once the payment has been received. I will post a list of confirmed Spots. I STRONGLY encourage you to reserve one if you plan on camping so you won't be disappointed.
How Much do I pay?
If you want to book 1 Tent, and 2 people - $20
If you want to book 1 Tent, and 3 people - $26
If you want to book 1 Tent, and 4 people - $32
If you want to book 1 Tent and 5 people - $38
Please include your full names, screen names as well as a phone number I can reach you at, along with your payment. Also, how big your tent is and if you are willing to let people in your tent. This will reduce your overall cost. Also include how long you plan to stay for. DOING SO WILL RESERVE YOUR TENT SPOT.
PREMEETS:
On the Canadian side, we should have two premeets - One in Burnaby - close to the entrance to Hwy 1 East (BCIT, maybe?) and another one in Langley (Same theatres as last year?) - The people coming north from the US can meet us at the theatres and we can all head down to Cultus Lake together when we're ready to begin the hot day's activities.
Once were done at Cultus, those who need to head back can head back home, those who want to stay at hotel rooms can check in to the nearby hotels, and those people are camping can take the short drive to the campsites we've booked.
For those people who want to stay in hotel rooms, I recommend this one - its close by, you can book online and its not bad. But Hurry up and reserve a room.
http://travela.priceline.com/hotel/overview-Canada_British_Columbia_Chilliwack_Rhombus_Hotel-65500.html
Premeet Times will be set once timing and driving details have been confirmed with the US folk.
I'll Update this as necessary.
Let me know if there's anything I've left out- I would like to get the list of who's definately going finalized.
Where and what time are the premeets on the US side, and what time do you guys expect to be in Langley?
Let me know asap, so I can figure out the meet times
To avoid being kicked out I'm going to ask there be some easy to follow rules:
1. No burn outs.
2. No revving.
3. No alcohol.
4. No playing loud music(have to respect the families and stuff out for a nice time)
5. HAVE SOME FUN!
6. Bring friends, but not your whole team, squad, crew. As much as I love seeing any car, this is an Accord specific special, plus food will be limited Razz
You can find more information here, and see a list of people that will be attending. I believe that this will be an all accord meet.
